#PayYourAccount | CHDM Water Disconnection Drive Continues in Komani
KOMANI — The Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) has intensified its #PayYourAccount campaign, continuing with water disconnections across Komani for customers who have failed to respond after being served with final demand letters.
The municipality says the action is part of its ongoing revenue collection drive aimed at recovering outstanding debts owed by both residential and business consumers. Despite several notices and opportunities to make payment arrangements, some customers have not come forward to settle their municipal accounts.
CHDM has urged all affected residents and businesses to take this matter seriously and visit their municipal offices to make payment or enter into affordable arrangements to avoid further disconnections.
“We encourage all customers who are in arrears to act responsibly and come forward. Paying for services ensures we can continue delivering clean water and maintaining essential infrastructure,” the municipality said in a statement.
The district emphasized that service delivery relies heavily on revenue collected from ratepayers and that continuous non-payment threatens the sustainability of operations across the region.
Residents are reminded that reconnection will only be considered once the outstanding balance or an agreed portion thereof has been paid.
