Middelburg Artist Prince Quality Rsa Reignites 2026 Comeback
A young hip hop artist from Middelburg is preparing for what he describes as a renewed chapter in his music career in 2026.
Mnqweno Mbune, better known by his stage name Prince Quality Rsa, has spent more than a decade developing his craft in the Eastern Cape music scene. Born on 20 May 1998, he was raised by his father Xolile Mbune and his late mother Siziwe, Monica, Noxolo Mbune, alongside his sister Ayasanga Mbune.
A Passion for Words from a Young Age
Prince’s creative journey began in 2013 when he started writing poetry. A year later, in 2014, he moved into music as a ghost writer before formally recording his own material in 2015 at Blaqsoundz.
His first recorded song, “Homecoming”, featured Easy and Diba. In 2017, while still in high school, he released a track titled “Akukho Lula”, which he says helped shape his early musical direction.
Despite gaining momentum, Prince made the decision to step back from music for a period to focus on his education.
From Music to Manuscript
During his time away from recording, Prince turned his attention to writing a book. He describes the project not as a conventional novel, but as a personal reflection — a collection of thoughts and ideas representing what he calls “a closet of the clouds” in his mind.
The manuscript is reportedly complete, and he is currently seeking editors, proofreaders and publishers willing to collaborate. He has indicated that publishing the book is one of his key priorities for 2026.
Building 4THECULTURE
In 2020, Prince began work on his first mixtape titled 4THECULTURE. During the same year, he formed a movement under the same name alongside Lungelo Kholwane (known as SlayBeats) and Anganathi Ngcokongca (Blunts).
He now serves as the founder and CEO of 4THECULTURE.
The following year, in 2021, he released his first full EP, Thru 2 Myself, followed by additional extended plays in subsequent years as he continued developing his catalogue.
Radio Recognition and Award Nominations
Prince has also received airtime on community radio platforms. Between 2023 and 2025, he participated in six interviews on Vukani Community Radio. In February 2026, he was interviewed on Mfuleni Radio.
In 2025, he earned three award nominations, including recognition at the Inxuba Yethemba Youth Awards, the Eastern Cape Spotlight Awards, and Artist Scout S.A.
Personal Loss and a Return to Focus
September 2025 marked a difficult period for the artist following the passing of his cousin and collaborator Lungelo Kholwane (SlayBeats). A month later, he also lost his mother. These events led to the cancellation of several planned projects toward the end of 2025.
Now, Prince says he is refocused and preparing for new projects in 2026. He is currently working with Take Town Photography on upcoming plans and is actively seeking performance bookings for the year ahead.
Alongside his music commitments, he continues to pursue the publication of his book and the growth of 4THECULTURE.
