Hawks Renew Appeal for Information on Four Ntabankulu Children Missing Since 2024
The Hawks have renewed an urgent appeal for information that could help solve the disappearance of four young children who vanished from their home in Ntabankulu more than 18 months ago.
According to the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), siblings and relatives Sive Siganga (7), Oyintando Siganga (4), Thabsile Siganga (4), and Thabile Siganga (4) were last seen on 10 November 2024 at their family homestead in Mjila Administrative Area, Ntabankulu.
The children were reportedly playing in the yard of their home before they disappeared without a trace. Their sudden disappearance led to the opening of a kidnapping case and the subsequent involvement of the Hawks.
Despite extensive investigations, the whereabouts of the four children remain unknown.
The Hawks said investigators have pursued numerous leads over the past year and a half, including intelligence-driven enquiries, follow-up investigations across provincial borders, community engagements and the assessment of information received from the public.
Authorities say the case remains one of the most concerning missing children investigations in the country due to the complete lack of confirmed sightings or evidence explaining what happened to the children.
The Hawks have now appealed to traditional leaders, community leaders, churches, schools, civic organisations, child protection groups, media organisations and members of the public across South Africa to help spread awareness about the case.
Investigators believe even the smallest piece of information could prove crucial in helping solve the mystery surrounding the children’s disappearance.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the four children, or any information that may assist investigators, is urged to contact Serious Organised Crime Unit Commander Colonel Raymond Buys on 082 301 1133 or Warrant Officer Norton Ndabambi on 082 559 4613.
Information can also be reported at any police station or anonymously through the SAPS MySAPS App.
The Hawks said all information received will be treated with strict confidentiality.
