KOMANI, EASTERN CAPE – Queen’s College Boys’ High School’s 1st XI Cricket team wrapped up a thrilling weekend at the FOCUS School SA20 tournament, showcasing tremendous fight and sportsmanship en route to securing a hard-earned second-place finish against traditional rivals Graeme College.

The young men from Queen’s College (QC) started the tournament on Friday with commanding performances, securing two strong wins against Prestige College and Hudson Park to build crucial momentum heading into the weekend.

Semifinal Drama and Bowl-Out Triumph

The tension ratcheted up on Saturday. QC faced Graeme College in a reduced match, falling short in a tight loss. However, the boys quickly regained their composure and focus, demonstrating “nerve” in a nail-biting tie-breaker.

The team held their nerve to secure a decisive 3-2 win in a bowl-out, which was enough to book their spot in the highly anticipated final on Sunday.

Valiant Effort in the Final Showdown

The final saw Queen’s College once again pitted against Graeme College. Despite battling hard and giving their all on the field, the 1st XI ultimately fell short, losing the final match by a margin of 41 runs.
