Molteno in the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality is specifically listed among the areas expected to be affected. Other affected areas in the Chris Hani District include Emalahleni and Sakhisizwe.

Komani is not specifically named in the warning, but residents travelling from Komani towards Molteno, Dordrecht and other higher-lying parts of the district should remain cautious and monitor weather and road updates.

The weather service said a steep upper-air trough, together with a high-pressure system and low freezing levels, is expected to bring snow to the northern interior of the Eastern Cape.

Snow could leave roads icy and cause traffic disruptions or minor accidents. Vulnerable livestock and crops may also be affected by the freezing conditions.

Residents have been advised to dress warmly and avoid high mountain passes where possible. Motorists who must travel should exercise caution as roads may become slippery and dangerous.

People should continue monitoring official weather updates and remain in contact with local disaster management officials or community leaders.
