Vehicle Fire Closes One Lane on R61 Near Bolotwa
Motorists travelling on the R61 near Bolotwa experienced delays on Saturday evening after a vehicle caught fire, forcing the temporary closure of one lane while emergency services responded to the scene.
Information received by Komani News indicates that the incident occurred on the evening of 30 May 2026. A call for assistance was made after a vehicle burst into flames on the highway, creating a potentially dangerous situation for other road users travelling along the route.
Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality Fire and Rescue Services were alerted and dispatched to the incident. Emergency responders travelled to the scene after reports that one lane of the roadway had become obstructed due to the burning vehicle.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel found the vehicle engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control and secure the area to prevent further danger to passing motorists.
