Three arrested in Cofimvaba drug crackdown across multiple areas
Cofimvaba – Three suspects are expected to appear before the Cofimvaba Magistrate’s Court following their arrest for alleged drug possession during a coordinated police operation conducted across multiple areas in the Cofimvaba policing precinct.
The arrests were made on 23 April 2026 by members of the Komani Flying Squad and Komani K9 Unit. According to police, the operation followed information received regarding alleged drug dealing activities in different parts of the area.
Police confirmed that search warrants were obtained and executed at several locations.
In Joe Slovo, Cofimvaba, a 33-year-old suspect was allegedly found in possession of 11 mandrax tablets and was arrested.
Further arrests were made at Bridge Camp in Thembani locality, Gwatyu. Police said a 30-year-old suspect was allegedly found in possession of 10 mandrax tablets and two half tablets.
In a separate case at the same location, a 39-year-old suspect was allegedly found in possession of nine mandrax tablets. Both suspects were arrested at the scene.
All three suspects are expected to appear before the Cofimvaba Magistrate’s Court on 24 April 2026, facing charges related to drug possession.
The arrests form part of a wider police operation targeting both illegal drugs and firearms in the Cofimvaba policing precinct, with multiple locations being identified and searched.
The District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph is pleased the succession of successes by his foot soldiers.
Police spokesperson Captain Yolisa Mgolodela confirmed the arrests and said investigations are continuing.
