BREAKING: Armed Robbery at Queenstown Steers/Debonairs: Multiple Arrests Made
Komani residents were shaken this morning when an armed robbery unfolded at the Steers/Debonairs head office, prompting a coordinated response from multiple law enforcement and security units. The operation led to several arrests, a high-speed chase, and the seizure of cash, vehicles, and other property.
Robbery in Progress Reported at 08:45 AM
At approximately 08:45 AM, authorities received reports of an armed robbery in progress at the Steers/Debonairs fast-food head office. SAPS Komani units, including K9, Detectives, and Criminal Intelligence, responded immediately. They were supported by Red Guard Security Tactical Response, the QRRU Armed Reaction unit, and EMLM Traffic Police.
Immediate Arrest at the Scene
Upon arrival, police managed to arrest one suspect at the scene. The remaining suspects fled in a Suzuki MV, initiating a high-speed pursuit through Komani. Officers from the traffic department and the K9 unit worked to intercept the fleeing vehicle, which posed a danger to other road users.
High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Westbourne
The Suzuki was eventually stopped in Westbourne, where a second suspect was arrested. The pursuit drew the attention of bystanders as officers coordinated roadblocks and deployed K9 support to contain the suspects.
Further Arrests Made
Investigations continued after the initial arrests, leading to the apprehension of two additional suspects, bringing the total number in custody to four. Authorities confirmed that one suspect remains at large, reportedly in possession of the firearm used during the robbery and some of the stolen cash. Efforts to locate this individual are ongoing.

Both crime scenes, including the Steers/Debonairs office and the location where the Suzuki was stopped, were secured and processed by the SAPS Laboratory and Criminal Records Centre (LCRC).
