MANDRAX, TIK, AND ILLEGAL ZOL! 62-YEAR-OLD DRAGS FAMILY NAME THROUGH THE MUD! 🚨
Thornhill/NTABETHEMBA – A wave of shock has hit the community of Ntabethemba after police busted a 62-year-old man on Tuesday, December 9, who was allegedly using a taxi service to smuggle a significant haul of illegal substances and contraband from Komani!
The Oupa now finds himself in a desperate corner, facing serious charges of drug possession after the Ntabethemba Police, who are on high alert for the Safer Festive Season operation, acted on a critical tip-off that brought his illegal journey to a screeching halt.
THE HOT TIP AND THE TAKEDOWN
The police intelligence network proved its worth once again. Information was received that a taxi travelling from the Komani area towards Ntabethemba was carrying an elderly male passenger who was in possession of drugs.
Police teams immediately mobilised, setting up a roadblock and spotting the vehicle matching the description. The taxi was signalled to stop, and a thorough search of the passengers commenced.
The swift action by the Ntabethemba Police stopped the estimated R5 950,00 worth of poison from flooding the local streets this festive season.
THE FULL SHOCKING LIST OF THE LOOT!
The police confiscated the following items from the suspect:
-
20 “boss” Mandrax tablets, which alone have a heavy street value of R4 000.00! This is enough Mandrax to wreck dozens of lives.
-
2 small bags of Tik (Crystal Meth), the destructive white powder, valued at R1 500!
-
5 x 10 Cartons of Illicit Sevilles Cigarettes, commonly known as illegal ZOL, valued at R450,00! The total cash value of the items is a staggering R5 950,00.
COURT DATE DRAMA
The 62-year-old man was arrested on the spot and spent a cold night behind bars. He was scheduled to make his first court appearance before the Ntabethemba Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Wednesday, December 10.
While the exact outcome of his appearance is not yet known, the community is watching closely, demanding that the court take a tough stand against those who peddle poison, regardless of their age.
The District Commissioner publicly praised his “foot soldiers” for their dedication, stating that this operation is a major win for the community.
“His dedication in the combating, prevention and uprooting of criminal elements in our communities brings hope for a safer festive season,” confirmed Captain Yolisa Mgolodela.
Komani News warns all criminals: There is NO safer festive season for you! Police operations are everywhere, and they are closing in!
