Karate Students Excel in kyu Grading.
Komani – The Royal Academy Hall was filled with excitement and determination on Saturday as kyokushin karate students showcased their hard-earned skills during the annual grading hosted by the *Rhythm Zone Sports Recreation and Development Academy* Karate Club.
The grading, led by Sensei Luvo and Senpai Joyi, brought together students from various belt levels — from eager beginners to seasoned practitioners — all striving to advance to the next stage of their martial arts journey.
Participants were assessed on their kata (forms), kihon (basic techniques), and kumite (sparring), demonstrating not only physical skill but also discipline, respect, and mental focus — the true essence of karate.
“Grading is not just about earning a belt; it’s about testing your growth in spirit, attitude, and perseverance,” said Sensei Luvo Andries, commending the students for their commitment throughout the training cycle.
Senpai Masibulele Joyi also expressed pride in the students’ performance, noting the importance of consistency and humility in martial arts.
“Every step on the mat is a reflection of hard work and respect. Our goal is to build confidence and character, not just fighters,”.
The grading concluded with a group photo and a motivational address encouraging students to continue training with dedication and passion.
The Royal Academy Karate Club remains committed to empowering the youth of Queenstown through martial arts, fostering values of respect, confidence, and self-control.
