Building Youth Football in Mlungisi
The Mlungisi Schools Football League focuses on under-19 players, giving high school learners the opportunity to compete in organised football while representing their schools.
The competition has now been running for about four years, becoming an important platform for school sport and youth football development in the area.
Organisers say the league not only promotes sport among learners but also encourages teamwork, discipline and healthy competition between local schools.
Support From Provincial Department
The league receives support from the Eastern Cape Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, which provides sponsorship in the form of trophies and medals for the participating teams.
This support helps ensure that the annual competition continues to provide structured sporting opportunities for young players across the Mlungisi community.
