IDP consultative meeting between CHDM and Enoch Mgijima underway in Komani

An Integrated Development Plan (IDP) consultative meeting between Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) and Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality is currently taking place in Komani.

The meeting forms part of the 2026/27 IDP consultation process and is being held at the CHDM Council Chamber. Municipal officials and representatives from both the district and local municipality are participating in the engagement.

According to information shared by the municipality, the consultative meeting is focusing on service delivery priorities, with specific attention given to bulk water infrastructure, sanitation, economic development, and revenue enhancement.

The IDP consultation process is a statutory requirement that guides municipal planning and budgeting. Through these engagements, municipalities assess development priorities and align plans for the upcoming financial year.

The current meeting aims to ensure coordination between CHDM and Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality in areas where responsibilities overlap, particularly in relation to bulk services.
