Vehicle Overturns Near Komani, Leaving Five Injured

Five people were injured after a single-vehicle crash on the N6 near the Zwatwater turn-off, about 30km outside Komani towards Jamestown, on Saturday evening.

According to emergency service information from the scene, the crash was reported at around 7.18pm on Saturday, 21 March 2026. The vehicle allegedly overturned after the driver lost control when a kudu was involved in the roadway.

Emergency medical services, Sterkstroom SAPS and provincial traffic officials responded to the scene. Recovery teams were also called out.

Initial reports indicate that there were five occupants in the vehicle, including four women and one man. Emergency information from the scene recorded no fatalities and no entrapment.

Two female occupants were transported to Frontier Hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Another two female occupants were also taken to Frontier Hospita.

Traffic officials were also on scene as the response continued into the evening.

At this stage, no deaths have been reported. The exact circumstances of the crash is unknown, but early emergency reports described it as a single-vehicle rollover linked to a kudu in the road.
