COPS SNUB MAMA’S CRY! DAUGHTER TOLD SHE’S ‘READY TO BE SLEPT WITH’
MAMA’S FURY!
‘OLD WOMAN SAID MY CHILD IS ‘READY FOR MEN’!’
Komani, Eastern Cape — A mother’s hands-on fight to protect her 12-year-old daughter from a vile campaign of sexualised verbal abuse has hit a brick wall at the local police station, leaving her shattered and furious.
Vuziwe Mgweba Magaba says her beautiful, innocent child is being tormented by an elderly woman in their community who cruelly targets her because of her developing body.
The evil comments are sickening: The woman allegedly tells the child her buttocks make her look “ready for men” or “old enough to be slept with.”
“It breaks something inside me,” Vuziwe told Komani News. “To watch her hesitate, to see doubt creeping into a heart I’ve spent years protecting… that pain is sharp!”
‘POLICE TOLD ME TO APOLOGISE!’
The heartbroken mother says she went straight to Mlungisi Police Station for help, armed with the law and a mother’s iron will. But instead of help, she got the cold shoulder!
“My concerns were treated as though they were exaggerated or overly emotional,” she revealed in a scathing statement. “I was asked, ‘Why does this trigger you so much?’”
Even worse, Vuziwe says she was positioned as the problem and was at one point expected to apologise for defending her own child!
“No parent should be made to feel as though defending their child is an overreaction. No child should have to endure emotional bullying or sexualised comments, especially from an adult who should know better,” she pleaded.
Vuziwe says what her daughter is facing is sexual harassment, body shaming, and psychological abuse of a minor, which is clearly covered by the Children’s Act and the Constitution.
SAPS: ‘WE NEVER HEARD ABOUT THE BAD SERVICE!’
The mother is demanding that police take the matter seriously, give her guidance on getting a protection order, and ensure children in the community are safe.
When Komani News approached the cops, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, SAPS Queenstown Spokesperson, reacted with regret.
“It is with regret that the mother to the 12-year-old daughter allegedly sexually degraded never reported the incident of her case not being taken seriously by police,” Captain Mgolodela stated.
She insisted that the SAPS is committed to excellent service and pointed out that there is a complaints desk at the District Office for dissatisfaction with services rendered.
“Cases of a sexual nature are never taken lightly by the police,” she added.
The spokesperson made it clear that the station is prepared to intervene and organise counselling for the young girl.
“The complainant must come forward and present her case so that police can give the necessary support and investigate the matter further,” Captain Mgolodela concluded.
MAMA’S FIGHT IS NOT OVER!
Vuziwe Mgweba Magaba says her daughter’s well-being is not negotiable. She is now calling on the SAPS to revisit this matter with the seriousness it deserves and bring the cruel old woman to book!
If you have experienced bad service at the police station, you can call the complaints desk at 045 807 4105 or visit the District Office at the KSM building.
