The Chris Hani District Municipality has issued an urgent public notice to residents of Komani following an unplanned water supply interruption caused by a burst pipe in Ebden Street. The incident has affected several parts of the town, with water services temporarily disrupted while repair teams attend to the fault.

Burst Pipe Disrupts Water Supply Across Komani

According to the official municipal communication, the water interruption was caused by a burst pipe that occurred along Ebden Street earlier today. The resulting damage has led to a temporary suspension of water supply in multiple residential and commercial areas.

The affected zones include Queen Drive and all intersecting streets, as well as Grey Street, Prince Alfred Street, and Tylden Street. Water supply has also been disrupted in Green Street, Porter Street, Chalmers Street, and parts of Westbourne Park.

The municipality confirmed that its technical teams were immediately dispatched to the site to carry out the necessary repairs and to ensure that normal water flow is restored as soon as possible.

In the official statement, the Chris Hani District Municipality assured residents that the burst pipe is being repaired as a priority. Municipal technicians are currently on-site in Ebden Street and have begun work to restore the water supply to the affected communities.

The Chris Hani District Municipality said that while every effort is being made to restore the system swiftly, the complexity of underground pipe repairs means that completion times may vary depending on the extent of the damage.
