Two Seriously Injured in N6 Rear-End Collision Near Cathcart
Two people sustained serious injuries in a collision on the N6 near Cathcart on Wednesday morning after a vehicle reportedly rear-ended a light delivery vehicle.
According to information supplied by emergency responders, the crash occurred on 17 June 2026 on the N6, approximately 13.2 kilometres north of Cathcart.
Emergency Medical Services, rescue teams, traffic officials, SAPS members and towing services responded to the scene.
Both injured occupants were treated at the scene before being transported to Cathcart Hospital for further medical care.
Vehicles the scene show extensive damage to both vehicles, with the rear of the light delivery vehicle crushed and the front of the second vehicle heavily damaged after the impact.
The circumstances surrounding the collision have not yet been disclosed.
Motorists travelling on the N6 were urged to exercise caution, particularly during winter mornings when visibility can be reduced by mist and wet road conditions.
