High-Risk Car Stolen… Thieves Caught Red-Handed in Komani!

Fortuner Theft Foiled: 3 Nabbed in Aloe Vale Sting

Komani, Eastern Cape – Drama hit Aloe Vale mid-morning today when a white Toyota Fortuner, valued at R600 000, was stolen from a local car wash – but quick action by Watchful Safety and Security and SAPS turned the tables.

A tracking company alerted the security team immediately after the vehicle went missing. The Fortuner, flagged as a high-risk vehicle in South Africa, was quickly located via GPS, showing it moving through Aloe Vale.

Security officers responded without delay, following the vehicle’s movements and coordinating with authorities. Within minutes, they managed to intercept the suspects, three young men aged 20 to 25, who were caught in possession of the stolen Fortuner. The men reportedly admitted to taking the vehicle unlawfully.

SAPS K9 units were called to the scene to take over the investigation and secure the vehicle. The Fortuner was booked into the police station, and the three suspects were formally arrested and charged.

A spokesperson for Watchful Safety and Security praised the rapid teamwork, noting that quick response and tracking technology were key in preventing the theft from escalating.
