CHDM Engages Khwezi Village Community on Water Challenges

In a proactive effort to address ongoing water challenges, the Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) held a community engagement session with residents of Ward 32, Khwezi Village, under the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality. The meeting focused on understanding the specific water supply issues affecting households and finding immediate, practical solutions.

During the engagement, CHDM officials listened to residents’ concerns regarding inconsistent water supply and the difficulties this has caused in daily living. The discussions highlighted both short-term interventions and long-term plans aimed at improving the village’s water infrastructure.

Following the session, the municipality confirmed that quick solutions have already been put in place to restore water access in affected areas. Starting today, the CHDM technical team will be on site to begin work on resolving the water supply problems, including checking pipelines, repairing leaks, and improving pressure in key zones.

CHDM emphasized that community involvement remains a cornerstone of its service delivery approach. The municipality continues to encourage open communication between residents, ward committees, and technical teams to ensure challenges are identified and resolved promptly.
